I returned home this evening to find a box in the garage sent to me from the great state of Rhode Island. It was a package of goodies from Hoser, how thoughtful! A six pack of excellent Narragansett Lager. This is a fantastic beer, I am enjoying a cold one right now while I am typing this. Mrs. Andy tried it and she too agreed that it is a fantastic beer. I wish we could get this here in Georgia. We can get Yuenglings from PA and Leinenkugel from WI but for my taste this is much better beer than either of those. Hoser also sent me a bottle of coffee syrup which my 8 and 9 year olds have already sampled in cold milk and they both have given it a big thumbs up . Their favorite ice cream flavor is coffee so I had a feeling this would be a big hit and it is. I also got a a package of Dell's Frozen Lemonade mix, I may try this a little later with a shot of vodka and I may just keep this one to myself and not share with the kiddies . The goodness just keeps coming because Hoser also sent me a jar each of his homemade bread and butter and dill pickles. On his advice I will wait a couple of weeks to break into them but they look divine. Mrs. Andy was disappointed as she tried to break open the dills immediately but I told her we must wait.![]() Thanks a million for the kindness, Hoser! Andy |

You can open the bread and butter pickles anytime Andy...they are ready. It's just the dills that should sit for another week or so.

Hey all, good deal on getting the exchange going again. Boiler, you're going to love the lemonade mix, my kids and I did and that bucket didn't last long. It's sure nice to get beer in the mail isn't it? Looks like you got some really nice stuff!

I just made a Dell's frozen lemonade and added a couple of shots of Svedka Swedish vodka for Mrs. Andy and myself. Oh my, is that ever good!!!!!
![]() Got sidetracked and didn't get to try the bread and butter pickles the other day but we are going to have them with lunch tomorrow, I can't wait! When Hoser's Kosher dill pickles are ready here in about another week I'm am thinking of slicing them up and making Cuban sandwiches, YUM! Y'all ought to see these two jars of pickles in person, they're the best looking pickles I have ever seen, just loaded with seasonings and goodness. |

I cracked open the dills yesterday Andy, and you could tell I forgot the pickle crisp. They weren't quite as crunchy as I like them, but the herbs and hot peppers came through very well. Overall, I am not disappointed. The first half pickle I had was about like your mild salsa heat-wise....I don't know if all the jars will be the same or not.

We tried your bread and butter pickles the other night and they are FANTASTIC!!! My wife's wonderful mother passed away in 2000 and she dearly loved B&B pickles and the first thing Mrs. Andy said said when she tasted yours was "These are so good, can you imagine how how much mom would have liked these?". Thanks not only for the pickles but more so for the memories their taste brought back. We're going to try the dills tomorrow, can't wait. Folks, if you you haven't figured it out already, Hoser is a picklemaster, he knows how to make pickles, holy cow they are good!!!! Andy |

Forget to add that I have about a half of a smoked pork loin in the fridge leftover from last night. I'm going to slice it thin and use Hoser's dill pickles tomorrow to make some killer Cuban pressed sandwiches. They are going to be awesome, I cant wait! I will report back!

The Cuban sandwiches turned out awesome! The whole family loved them and wants them again soon. I found some good Cuban bread at Kroger's and bought some nice ham from the deli and some Swiss cheese which I combined with thinly sliced leftover pork loin I had smoked over hickory on my pellet grill last Friday night. I actually grilled and pressed them in my George Foreman grill, it worked quite well, I pressed them down and then put a 28 oz can of tomatoes on top of it to keep them pressed. The one thing I learned from doing this is that it is best to do two at a time. Due to the nature of the grill's floating hinge if you try to do just one the pressure is uneven and pushes the meat out the side of the bread, perhaps this would be mitigated when grilling only one if the sandwich was centered in the grill which I didn't try, I had it to one side. I merely took the sandwich out and pushed the meat back in and then added a second sandwich which worked out perfectly. Your dills are great, not mushy at all! I sliced them thin for the sandwiches and they were fantastic. Andy |
