guys, this package is worth seeing! i came home on thursday and saw the box, but all sorts of business was happening, so i wasn't able to open it until today. here's what i found:

lots of great beers (microbrew, pale ale and wheat beer), a huge bag of ansazi beans and soe other goodies!

here's a close-up of the beers -

very impressive, especially those brewed in bavaria and imported from germany! i am really looking forward to trying these and intend to save them for fathers' day to share them with my dad. the others are all very local especially the mueller ones straight from springfield! love the artowrk on all of the labels!

here are the barbecue sauces:

they all look great, and i am not sure which one i want to try first! i will definitely save the key lime bbq sauce for a caribbean or floridian-style barbecue, and i know that the carolina sauce will be great as well ~ the hot hot one...that's going to be for a night when there is a lot of beer!

the anasazi beans went into a great big pickle jar - don't they look nice?

these arrived just in time to be a part of my aztec feast tomorrow (saturday)! i will be cooking up a version of these similar to the one john made not long ago. i've got a pound-and-a-half of them soaking now as we speak!

finally, there was this coffee mug:

the thing about this is that mama jean's is where all the good spices and other specialty foods (including the anaszi beans) have been coming from this is a great way to keep a wonderful market in mind!

thanks again, john! you're really coming up with jsut the right things to send ~ be looking for a box before too long ~ i've been coming up with a few things here and there that will hopefully show you a great taste of montana!

Hey glad you liked the goods! Wait until you try them German cervezas, bud, you're in for a treat Smile Some good stuff there, and of course, nothing less from the country that invented beer as we know it. That mind blowin' brain damage sauce has a lot of mandarin orange and (I think) mango in it and has a wonderful caribbean/floridian/island taste to it, even more so than the heat...which isn't much at all- the label dramatics notwithstanding. Yep, mama jeans is the place to go for all our wild and wooly far out-there needs...including "organic buffalo" meat. I guess their animals eat only "organic" grass........whatever.

Great place tho and they carry plantains in season, so I can make some more South American/Caribbean dishes as the time comes. Looking forward to that, have another nice Ecuadorian recipe for Dave!
