LOL   Cava, the Catalan ( and Sonoma Californian ) sparkling wine made in traditional Champagne style ( 1870 ) gives this Sangría a lovely effervescent kick and José told me, he also makes a NON alcohol Sangría for the kids. Here is the recipe which Chef José Andrés makes :

4 cups diced: peaches, strawberries, grapes red and white
2 small triple skin thick oranges diced
1/2 cup Spanish Brandy
1/2 cup Spanish Peach Liquor
1/2 Cup White Natural Most Grape Juice
4 small mint sprigs
two 750 Ml. Bottles of chilled CAVA ( can be bought direct from wineries in Sonoma, Calif. )

Combine diced fruit, diced oranges, brandy, liquors and grape juice most and mint in large pitchers and chill at least 2 hours before lunchtime.

Pour wine over fruit combination and stir to blend flavors. Ladle the sangría into wide stemware.

ENJOY.

Margaux.
