I REALLY liked Dave's "Hoser Mom's Chinese Beef" that was posted in the "New England and the Northeast" section. I could almost smell the beefy ginger-infused, oriental sway to the rich steam coming from freshly made rice! I love that kind of stuff, and although Basmati is Indian rice, it is my favourite and I'm sure will go well this this dish. (Hope your mom doesn't mind, Dave).

Any suggestions for an accompaniment?

It's a meal in a pan Rivet...really no need for anything else but the rice. I like to toss in some beansprouts as well, sometimes even water chestnuts...just consider it a base, and let your imagination go wild.
Maybe just some nice bread and butter on the side, and of course an ice cold beverage.

I'm there! Really looking forward to making this. By the way, you all got a source for Basmati? Be glad to to do an exchange. We get nice 10LB gunney-sacks here.
