CHRISTMAS WINES FROM RECUPERATED VINEYARD LANDS ...

In Spain, numerous vintners, both Spanish and foreign, coupled with oenologists have been recuperating and renovating ancient wineyards, where the origins of Castilla León, bear some of the most delicious grapes and must. One of these zones is Designation of Origin, ARLANZA, BURGOS, CASTILLA LEÓN.

Here are some lovely oak ages Reds for your favorite roasts:

1)  BODEGAS SIERRA - VILLAMANZO, BURGOS, CASTILLA LEÓN

This family wine estate, is located in the heart of the Designation of Origin. It produces its wines in the traditional methods, all hand picked grapes, and the folk loric processes, of stepping on the grapes instead of machine crushing.

RESERVA CASTILLO DE URA 2004 is  an elegant Red elaborated on historic wine lands.

2) BODEGAS DE LERMA - VILLAMANZO, BURGOS, CASTILLA LEÓN

Another family traditional wine estate, with a harvest of 150.000 Kilos of red grapes, has rejected the latest technology to produce their caldos ( wines ) too. Their wines are oak aged in French Oak Barrels for 6 months ( very porous ) and are transfered to American Oak Barrels ( non - porous ) for the longevity of their ageing process. This winery produces sustainable natural products, thus, registered ecological organic wines of great quality. The grape variety is 100% Tempranillo.

IMPORTED CHRISTMAS WINES  ...

1)  DOÑA PAULA 2010 - 100% MALBEC - D.O. MENDOZA. ARGENTINA

Imported by Trinchero Family Estates, to the USA, this is an excellent full bodied Malbec that merges delightfully with all your roasts, especially beef, lamb, venison and boar. This splendid red, is produced and bottled on the wine estate Doña Paula.

2)  www.cavitcollection.com  THE CAVIT COLLECTION FROM ITALY, is imported by PALM BAY INTERNATIONAL, and consists of a Pinot Grigio, a Pinot Noir and an Italian Moscato from the Moscatel semi sweet white grape.

All my best for a wonderful 2013 ahead.
