This is as promised form the CHALLENGE! thread asking for salad ideas. In my case it's creamy coleslaw. The recipe comes from me and I live in the MidWest. It's easy peasy, and if you are put on the hook to show up somewhere with a dish, then this one fills the bill nicely.

It only has 5 ingredients, all easily obtainable here.

1 16oz package of home style coleslaw which is just cabbage and carrots
1/3 Cup Marzettis Original Coleslaw Dressing
1/4 Cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 packet of Splenda - you could use 2 teaspoons of sugar.

Here's the goods.

And here it all is mixed up in a bowl. That's it!

Just transfer it to whatever container you'll be using and toss it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. The salt needs to have time to draw out some of the cabbage juice. When You get where you're going, just stir it up and you're golden. Scale it up all you want. It's good on hot dogs. It's good on sandwiches, even hamburgers. It's good with fried fish or chicken.

Excellent-looking and easy, Rod - my mom used to make a similar coleslaw, but it contained raisins in it. I was never wild about the raisins, so I avoided it - but I will have to give this a try.

Thanks, it's dead easy. I should add that I make it a little "lean" so to speak, so you might add a little more cream and slaw dressing if you want it richer. Try it out.
