Our last big dinner before Orthodox Lent.  

I decided to try the sous vide setting on my Instant Pot.  Did a piece of filet mignon and a small moose roast (moose vide?).  I would have liked to get better grill marks on the bbq afterward.  Maybe next time.


We had potatoes fried in duck fat with rosemary and garlic, fried mushrooms and onions and Slavyanka’s roasted beet  and carrot salad.


I’ve asked Slavyanka to do traditional Lenten dishes this year.  I found when I cooked vegetarian a couple times a week for SS21 last summer I lost 10 lbs in 2 months.  Can’t hurt.
