I really enjoy brewing beer, but I also really like to try beers from small or craft breweries wherever I go. Usually, when we go on a trip or vacation, The Beautiful Mrs. Tas is hitting the gift shops for knick-knacks, while I hit the small breweries or even grocery stores for locally-brewed beers that I can bring home. Many a tap room at a small brewery in the middle of nowhere has seen me rush in, knock back a sample or two, then fill a growler (or purchase a mixed 6-pack) and rush out as my poor, long-suffering wife waits in the car (she's not a fan of beer).
During those travels, I am able to find a lot of great Montana-brewed beers; also some from Wyoming and a few from North Dakota, Idaho or Colorado. Thanks to our recent trip to the Pacific Northwest, I was also able to find some great beers in Oregon and Washington. However, where the rest of the country is concerned, I have very little to no access for American-brewed craft beers...so, when I came across this "Craft Beer Club," I was - at the very least - interested: https://craftbeerclub.com/ The details seem pretty straight forward: a selected 12 beers each month from a very impressive list of breweries across the country, delivered to your door with free shipping. Each delivery contains three beers from 4 different breweries. Ironically, whenever I buy new beers to try, I always buy them in multiples of three, so that my son (Mike), my father and I can all sample them - with that in mind, this arrangement works out pretty well, for me. The selection of breweries looks to be good and, from what I can see, the list will continue to grow in the future: https://craftbeerclub.com/breweries (be sure to hit the "load more" button at the bottom of the initial list! )I have tried two or three of the labels on the list (from Montana and Wyoming) during the course of my travels, and they have been very good; so I am confident that this "club" can give me access to other good beers from all over the country. The cost doesn't seem too bad at all; add in the fact that each purchase and/or month gives back 10% in order to help the forum pay for itself, and I would actually be paying only a little more than I already am every time I buy a bottle of "craft" beer at my local grocery. When you factor in the free shipping and the free gifts, the cost seems even more reasonable. I'm willing to pay a little to try beers from all over the country, so I'll probably give this a go, at least for a couple-three months. If anyone else is interested, take a moment to look at this, and consider it. |

I decided today to go ahead and give this a try for at least three months, possibly longer than that. This allows me to enjoy some great beer that I would never be able to try otherwise, and enjoy it with my father and my son as we pass the time playing cards or Yahtzee or whatever.
In addition, because I ordered it through the link on this thread, it kicks back a few dollars each month in order to go toward forum expenses. It sounds like a win/win all-around. ![]() Since we are going to be travelling to Australia next month (October), I decided to put off beginning the "subscription" until after that trip. My first shipment will arrive sometime in the latter half of November. If anyone else wants to try this, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences. Prost! ![]() Ron |
