To any interested parties - you can get mirin, the sweet Japanese cooking wine, at Real Food Market and Deli in Helena. The address is 1096 Helena Avenue and the phone number is 406.443.5150. The website is http://www.realfoodstore.com.

it's a little over 300 miles from where i live, but luckily, my mother and sister are heading that direction today. hopefully, they will be grabbing me a bottle or three of this so that i can finally may authentic teriyaki sauce, rather than making ersatz teriyaki sauce!

Hey, good deal for you Ron! You've been looking for Mirin for some time now, and unfortunately I wasn't of much help getting you some either. It sure will be nice to see some of your fantastic sauces and glazes with the real deal. If you would, when you get some take a shot of it and let us know what it tastes like.
