Most people love cookies, and there is no doubt, like many of you, grandmothers and mothers have provided over the years, an array of delicious memories. These comforting memories bring me to post, an old recipe of my Mom Eva ... Even though pecans are southern, they were quite available in Manhattan at a Dried Fruit & Nut Family Shop ...

MOM EVA´s PECAN BROWN SUGAR CRESCENT COOKIES ...

I pair these with Gorgonzola Blue Vein Italian Cheese and Ripe Bosc Pears or Granny Smith Apples ... and an Espresso ...

RECIPE ...

1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup pecans, lightly toasted
1 stick chilled butter, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinammon
Powdered sugar for topping

1) preheat oven to 325 degrees farenheit
2) combine all the ingredients except the powdered sugar in a FP and using on and off turns, process the mixture until it resembles a coarse pesto or meal
3) then process continuously until the dough joins together
4) roll 2 tsps. of dough between your palms and fingers to form a 2 1/2 inch long rope shape
5) taper the ropes at the ends ( top and bottom )
6) you shall require an ungreased baking sheet
7) Now, curl the ends of the ropes into a crescent shape and repeat
8) place the crescents on the baking sheet -- ungreased
9) place the crescents 1" apart
10) bake the cookies until just firm to touch about 17 minutes
11) cool on baking sheet about 5 minutes and transfer to rack to cool
12) sift the powdered sugar over each crescent

*** yield: 25 approx.

enjoy,
Margi.

Please correct; 325 farenheit. I shall confirm when I arrive 17.00 home.

Thanks for heads up; Hoser.

Yes, it is definitely 325 farenheit confirmed and corrected instructions; typing error ...
