The blueberries that grow wild in my area arent worth the bother to pick. They never seem to grow more than a foot or two off the ground, have few berries, and the fruits are pathetically small. I once spent an afternoon picking and only came home with less than half a pint.
On the other hand, it's that time of the year when the big commercial farms in New Jersey are shipping berries and their product looks great!
I walked into my local supermarket last night and they were set up on a display table that you had to walk past as soon as you got through the doors. Full pints marked 3/$5.00
Lol, guess what I had for my Father's Day breakfast?!?
Hah! She put so many blueberries in those pancakes that I have no idea how she even managed to get them from the griddle to my plate without having them fall apart! (Sorry folks, no pics. The devastation was total!)
Well, there's plenty more where they came from, so how about some more recipes? What can we do with these berries?

Do you have access to an ice cream maker? Maybe get some raspberries to go with them and make a nice sorbet?
Or blueberry scones?
Blueberry salsa?
blueberry sauce?
Blueberry cobbler?
Best of luck, whatever you decide to do with them

I have a recipe for you :) make what is known as "blueberry panty dropper". freeze the blueberries, then remove, get a bottle of neutral spirits (vodka) and a teaspoon or so of citric acid and soak the thawed blueberries in it for a week or so, then decant. then add sugar to the strained blueberries, it will turn into a syrup over the next week or so. add this syrup back to the spirit. Girls love it.
I'd look into blueberry wine at that price as well. |

Kiwi, that panty dropper sounds really interesting and I'll definitely be making up a batch, but I do have a question. Being that I'm so fond of blueberries, would it be alright if I just drink it myself and then let her be the one to take advantage?
