I followed Taz here from a couple of hunting forums I frequent.
My maternal grandparents were Transylvanian-Saxons and I have German and Scottish on my father's side. I come from a long line of cooks and am actually the only one in my immediate family (9 kids - good Catholics) who has never held a job cooking. Even my son is a chef. Though I've never cooked for a living, I love making and trying new foods from all over the world and when I travel I make a point of trying as many of the local foods as I can. Just like I believe there are beautiful women in every race, I believe that every culture has its great foods. I also fondly remember my Transylvanian-Saxon grandmother's cooking and have tried to recreate some of her dishes over the years. Now I am with a born-and-bred Ukrainian woman who is half-Russian (but we don't talk about that part ;) ). We enjoy cooking together and cooperate on cooking dinner almost every night. I also enjoy using my various smokers and charcoal bbqs. "Slavyanka" (my wife) especially loves my bbq beef brisket and her mother loves my smoked rainbow trout (at least, that's what Slavyanka tells me - her mother doesn't speak English).
