Good Morning, Firstly, this is an absolutely lovely Brunch for the morning of the 25th or 1st after the big bashes. What do you serve for the morning after; the 25th and the 1st ? We enjoy French Toast either prepared with Pannettone Fruit Nut Bread or Croissant. Here is the recipe which was given to me back in 1983 enroute to our home in San Francisco, where we resided for almost 1 decade, however, the Chef who gave us the recipe was in The Tesuque Village Market in Tesuque, New Mexico. CROISSANT FRENCH TOAST 4 large eggs ( 2 eggs per person ) 1 cup Egg Nog ( see homemade eggnog recipe in Beverage Section ) *** 1 tsp. ground cinammon 1/8 tsp. finely grated orange or lemon zest 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 2 croissants or 2 thick slices of Pannettone Fruit Nut Bread 1 tblsp. unsalted butter Pure Maple Syrup or Berry Fruit Syrup of choice 1) beat the eggs with the egg nog, cinnamon, sugar to taste, zest, and nutmeg 2) add the bread chosen to theegg mixture and turn to coat 3) heat a large skillet over medium low flame 4) sauté the bread chosen until golden brown on both sides, in melted butter 5) place the french toast on plates and drizzle with syrup and fresh fruit if desired ENJOY, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Margi. |
