now is the time to pay my debt .

this is a recipe i got from Hungarian book in Hebrew  .(no alcohol)

2 tins of Sour cherries
4 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
Cinnamon stick
1 tbs lemon juice
2 tbs flour
1 cup cream
1 lemon peel
1 yolk

in a pot mix the cherries ,water, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon .

mix the flour with the cream and the yolk .

add to the cherries  and cook till thickens .

add the peel .

chill it well .

enjoy

I love this recipe, Ahron. Simple, with readily available ingredients.

I can get sour cherries, but only in plastic containers. What size were the tins you used?

Ahron, you did a great job with this!

The cherry soup looks perfect and your photos show the process very well - a wonderful pictorial for our forum!

Thank you my friend for such a beautiful summer treat! Hug

I remember, when I was very little, telling my great-grandma I was going to make her cherry soup. I didn't know there really was such a thing!

Ahron,

This is called Cherry Gazpacho in Iberia´s Cherry Designation of Origin, Valle de Jerte, in northern Extremadura at the 3 corners, where Toledo, Ávila and Salamanca preside.

It is absolutely delicious.

I am going to use fresh cherries and eliminate the white sugar, ( cannot consume ) and follow your recipe !

Thank you very much for posting.

Bon voyage.
