I just tried a canned gefilte fish, a mixture of whitefish and pike.
I really hope the local stray cat will take care of it.
I may be mean and donate the rest of the cans to the welfare box.

I really wish you'd had said something first, Drinks. I'd of warned you against it.

There is probably nothing in the world as bad as canned Gefilte fish; whereas the true gelt can be really spectacular---if you enjoy foods with that sort of texture, which I don't, particularly. Friend Wife, on the other hand, could eat it every day.

As made by Jewish grandmothers throughout Europe, gefilte fish actually is made from three varieties: whitefish, pike, and carp. But, of course, carp has never caught on here in the States.

Now you tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are the third person to tell me,:" why didn't you tell me?"
We need a place where we can post warnings about nasty stuff, or at least warn people about possible nasty stuff!

Probably would make sense to just go over to the "Around The Kitchen Table" forum and post something like, "What do you know about X," or, "I'm thinking of trying Y."

Otherwise it becomes like those "what's your best kitchen tip" threads. We all know things it would be worthwhile to share. But, because we don't think of them as special, it's hard to bring them up like that.
