I have been having problems with my computer, slow and a lot of drops, so I found a repair service, had 10 downloaded while I was at it.
Now things are even worse
Still slow, can not post or edit pictures, a lot of the controls are lost, just a mess.
I just sugar cured and mesquite smoked about 9lb of canadian bacon and 10 lb of pork sirloin , bone in , steaks.
I have spent the last 4 hours trying to reduce the picture's size below 2.5 mg.
No luck!!!!!

What programme or App are you using to resize your file?
This is in my field of expertise.

I am in a mess, I have gone from 7 to 10 and seem to have lost a lot of controls.
I cannot find the start button, I have lost my editing program, paint.net, some items come up fast, some take so long the machine times out, my pictures have disappeared.

I have another computer in the shop, when It comes back, it should be just 7 pro , the one i am familiar with.
At 75, I should not need a computer many more years so if I get the other machine back and can get it to work as I have been used to, I shall just leave it alone and chug along.
Thanks for the offer of help, it is appreciated.

Agreed 7 was lovely.
However my transition to 10 has been seamless. Drinks - you may need to update your drivers. That sounds scary but it is really very simple, what you describe sounds like a case of no 'housekeeping' on your comp.
If I am wrong, please forgive.
At the very bottom left of Windows 10 should be an icon that looks like a white flag with a black cross.
Click it
Then look for the 'settings' cog icon - should be far left
Click that
Update and Security is at the bottom
Click that
Click 'Windows Update' and follow the prompts
- I expect it will take a while, but should sort you out.

Actually, I am afraid the problem is too much "housekeeping"
I just spent a bunch with a place in India to have my computer over hauled and cleaned up, that is when most of the problems started.
I shall follow your instructions.
REALLY, wish I just had 7 back, with no modifications.
Just went through it, it has been set to auto update and did so yesterday afternoon.
10 really has a lot of controls I am not used to and many are not self explanatory.
Another long learning curve.

Hope it goes well, I would love to help but am just too far away. You were very brave sending your machine to India! I build my own to avoid all that, I know whats in there and who put it there.
After Windows 8 I am loving 10. I just wonder where 9 is ???Clown
Good luck

Actually, the work was done on line, took 7 hours, still is a mess.
I have a nephew who is a nerd deluxe, I suppose I shall have to get him here to get things straightened out.

Hello, there could be several things that slow down your computer. First one could be related to your low specifications on your PC, an old processor, bad video-card, and other stuff that can be replaced. Secondly, your computer could be virused, so you have to download a good antivirus software that will clean up you system. And thirdly, the most common problem represents all those junk files that usually slow down a computer, to fix it you have to search for a best system optimizer to delete all those files. That is all, hope I helped you.

Hey, guys,

Appreciate your postings.  But this is a five-year old thread, from members who haven't been active in quite awhile.

So, there's no need to continue it.

Would love to see other posts from you, either as part of more active threads, or even starting one or three of your own.
