There are a few brown trout at that point in the river, enough to keep the stork fed but not much more.  It is very shallow usually, but deepens around the bend.  The fishing there is very desirable, but is private (part of a hunting/fishing/shooting estate) for a couple of miles.

Well here's a picture of mine a couple summers ago. In the far back left corner is a one-horse barn, and the small building to the right is the carriage house. The house was built in the early 1930's and folks around here didn't have automobiles, they still rode carriages and horses.

Here's where I do most of my damage...first pic is from the lower end of my back yard, looking up towards the deck, where the smoker and grills are located. Those are my herbs growing in the pots surrounding the deck. This year I have chives, parsley, sage, dill, cilantro, rosemary and basil so far.

This is the upper tier of the backyard, where I usually put up the canopy for summertime parties..we can accomodate thirty people quite comfortably, and intend to again soon. Garden shed off to the right, garage and boathouse in the background.

When I remodeled the house, I made sure to build a long covered porch for shelter from those quick thunderstorms. In the winter, both smoker and grill reside under here, because I just refuse to stop grilling just because it's January.

Go ahead...play with your food!

Sometimes it is warmer and drier than the summer these days (or maybe it just seems that way) Wink Was just looking at one taken 1st July 2007, the three of us soaked, despite the parasol and jackets.  Still, it didn't stop us, but the ladies stayed indoors.

Some lovely photos here, we are lucky people

Slightly off topic, but ...
Winter hit early and hard (by our standards), but hasn't affected some of die-hards in our city:

it's looking nice over there, gareth - we had an early bite of winter, too. it's pretty bad when we're looking forward to days warming up to temperatures of zero degrees (farenheit)! this morning it felt like we were in the 20s, so maybe it is a trend. i do enjoy hour seasons equally, but i'd just as soon not have it be at the extreme end of those seasons for longer than a few days at a time.

Well, I certainly don't have the beautiful property like many here...but this is my bbq corner.  The smoker is a Backwoods FatBoy Smoker...I love that thing!

Enjoy The Food!

Boy, I was looking for some of the action shots of my smoker and couldn't find any.  I know I had some...somewhere???  I guess I'll have to get that thing going soon (I was hoping tomorrow, making some smoked salmon steaks and smoked shrimp...but it was way too windy and cold out there today!)

   I'll have to wait!
Enjoy The Food!
