I may have previously mentioned our son's girlfriend Lydia who is in culinary school. In addition to working a part-time job and going to school full-time, she bakes and sells gourmet cupcakes to make her way through school. This weekend everything was going her way: First, son Nick proposed and she accepted. Then yesterday she and Nick were invited to a slow foods banquet in Kansas City. She donated some of her cupcakes for a charity auction. The person who won the bid for them was none other than Jasper Mirabile, one of the top chefs in KC. He talked with her and has since ordered more cakes from her Facebook page. We are enormously proud of her and just as pleased to welcome her to our family. Whoo-hoo!
Best,
Tom

She appears to be well grounded. It seems a wonderful addition to your family.
I wish her and your son every success in life.

This is incredible news, and it also sounds like the beginnings of some very nice opportunities.

Congratulations to the young couple, and to you parents for gaining such a fine daughter-in-law!
