Be still my beating heart. So delicious. So decadent. So very different.
When bitten, Tasmanian Pepperberries release many flavors followed by a good bit of short lasting heat. They seem to work well with just about anything. Eggs, beef, pork, greens, and even Ice cream Tasmanian Pepperberries are easily ground with mortar and pestle ![]() Cherry Tasmanian Pepperberry Ice cream ![]() A very adult dessert, each spoonful ending with a bit of flavorful heat. The color comes from the pepperberries which release a purple color into all they touch Wonderful. Find the recipe and berries here |

ooo sounds yummy! Couple questions:
do you just add these to a regular cherry ice cream recipe? do you keep the peppercorns whole and just throw them in, or do you grind them up first? |

I can see that being really good - I have played a bit with the combination of sweet and spicy (usually chocolate with red chili flakes, but also a few other things) and have been amazed at the new sensations that have resulted.
This looks like a real hit out of the ballpark ~ |

I roughly ground the pepperberries with a mortar and pestle so the pieces could be strained out. The ground pepperberries must warm along with sugar and cream to release their color and flavor. The softer the ice cream the stronger the pepperberry flavor. This ain't exactly health food but sometimes you just gotta ![]() |
