Has anyone been foraging yet or harvesting some autumn veggies, wines (grapes)  or is anyone  planning a hunting adventure ?

It is still a bit early here in Spain, for Boletus (penny buns) however, NĂscalos ( burnt red orange colored wild mushrooms ) are about in the foothills of the mountains and feathered game licenced hunters shall be permitted for the October season .. (red partridge,  pheasant and quail ) ..  Mid October, November brings several other feathered game and hoofed game such as wild boar and deer (venison ).

Harvests for grapes has been early this year, late August and early September for the most part.

Best wishes for a lovely autumn.

Slavyanka found penny buns in Ukraine (Transcarpathia) back in late July.  She did bring some dried mushrooms back.  I'm hoping to get out mushroom picking this weekend.

I don't do much bird hunting since I lost my Brittany Spaniel 10 years ago.  Haven't replaced her.

Moose hunt planned for mid-October, then deer hunting in November.  I had hopes of doing a bear hunt over the Labour Day weekend but spent the time moving SD21 into her house at university.

I told Slavyanka that the next time I go to Ukraine it will be in the autumn so I can do a wild boar hunt.
