Okay, here's the taste-testing from the great Georgia beers Boilermaker sent me in yesterday's exchange package I received.

First up on the left hand side was the SweetWater Brown Ale. Beautiful color and a great brown ale taste. Full of coffee, nutty-toasted flavours, with some smokey-toffiness lingering at the end. It was light on hops, just enough to make it refreshing rather than heavy and gave it a good balance- this is a refreshing beer for a warm day. It had a crisp finish that made it very drinkable. On a day like today (sunny 90F and a hot western breeze) it was nice!

Next, the Terrapin Sunray wheat. Real nice, with the strong traditional citrusy-hoppiness of German Weisse Biers. It had a creamy aftertaste just like a Hefe-Weisen- very good! A full bodied wheat beer, this tasted just like the wheat beers I love. The label reads: "Terrapin Sunray Wheat is proudly brewed with a touch of Tupelo honey from Savannah Bee Company..Taste The Sunshine!" Perfect wheat beer I say.

Then the Red Brick wheat. Another delightful wheat beer. This one was lighter in hops and thinner in body, with that hint of citrus hoppiness more prevalent in the Terrapin. It too had that creamy wheat mouthfeel but to a lesser extent, this was lighter, without the German heft to it; an American version of Weiss Bier and an excellent one! One could sip this all day long with ease. An excellent example of our wheat beers.

In all, three excellent beers from small local Georgia breweries that do their thing in a great way. Wish I could get some around here...in fact I did contact Terrapin Brewery and asked if they had plans to expand to the midwest. No luck for now, too bad for us.

Another set of fantastic beers I've gotten to try thanks to our exchange program. This is one fun and tasty adventure from our site. Thanks to all for making it such a nice one, and thanks to Boilermaker for the trade!
