I came into possession of a bunch of lemons from which I am making pickles. For this I need Fenugreek seeds and an even more uncommon spice called Asafoetida.

I found Fenugreek seeds at a health food store. I only need a few tablespoons, but now have a whole pound because I couldn't find it in a smaller quantity. Apparently, healthy people sprout fenugreek seeds...

However, no way could I find asafoetida, or as it is known in India, Hing. Well, I can find it on the internet, but I want to try here first.

So, I'm hoping someone on here has some still fresh asafoetida that they would be willing to trade for some fenugreek seeds. The seeds I just purchased have an expiration date some time in 2014, so I'm assuming they're fresh.

Let me know. Thanks.

Onion powder and garlic powder are a good substitute if you are having trouble finding it Rod.

Thanks for the links. Good resources. I'm probably going to end up using onion/garlic powder. Well, unless someone comes through today. And, now to figure out what to do with all these fenugreek seeds...

If I recall correctly, I think Kiwi had posted a few recipes that included fenugreek. You might try an advanced search of the site.
