We've recently had a lot of interesting discussion in the North African section of the forum:
 
 
Much of what was discussed here has renewed my interest in the cuisine of the Maghreb, to the point where I bought a tajine during a recent trip to Billings:
 
 
I've currently got a batch of msir going:
 
 
And can't wait to try it with a couple of dishes that I would like to make.
 
Brook, knowing of my interest, was kind enough to offer to send a few essentials for North African Cuisine, and I was grateful for his generosity:
 
 
This nice care package included ras el hanout:
 
 
Coriander seed:
 
 
Harissa (this picture doesn't do justice to the deep, rich red of the product):
 
 
Mini rose buds:
 
 
And black cardamon pods:
