Points to the first member who can identify this castle, assembled by my youngest son for a Medieval History project:

I know it's not perfect, but give the boy a break ~ he tried to show some attention to detail, even if his execution was a little clumsy. For instance, those three different "trim" colors on the walls and towers are pretty close to the actual colours on the real castle, which are all a little different as far as we can see in the photos that we found.

Interestingly, he was able to capture various stages of the castle's renovations over the centuries.

And the invasion begins....

I hope that he did a fair job of representing this interesting castle. I will post the short essay that he wrote after the castle is identified. If anyone has first-hand knowledge or experience with this castle, please feel free to add any interesting details or information.

Would those "Invaders" be Ottoman Turks by any chance?

Darko, there's a little more to it, but you're on the right track! Thumbs Up

I'll leave it be for a day or so, and we'll see if anyone gets it ~ Star

Ron,

I think Roger did a spectacular job !  Afterall, he is not an Architect of Antiquities nor is he European to see a castle 1st hand either.

I am going to say, a good possibility would be mainland Europe; as it has the " Roman " fortress walls.  Very Iberian as a matter of fact or the region of Côte Azur, south eastern France or Italia.

I will go with Russia verses the Scandinavian countries. I have never seen a castle in Stockholm and I have never travelled to the other 2 countries mentioned, however, Russia was invaded by the Romans along with Rumania and the other eastern E.U. Countries.

Great job !

It does look really quite good!

It looks like the work of the Scots to me, my guess is Scotland.

Okay, I suppose I can't read that well...I'll guess Finland
