One of my favorite wines comes from an unlikely place.

Chateau Musar is an amazing red from the Bekka Valley.

The wine has a cult following of chefs in Canada. I am thrilled to offer it to guests in my home and see their reaction. Usually it is an incredulous response regarding that fact that there is a winery of this quality in Lebanon.
Truly a hidden treasure.

Scroll through the presentation in the link for an overview of the history. My limited computer skills would not allow me to isolate it as a read only. For this I apologize.

I am a wine enthusiast. The more wine I drink, the more enthusiastic I become.

Nice! I've heard that Middle-Eastern wines are among the best in the world - easy to believe when seeing this! Thumbs Up

It is my favorite wine to serve to French wine snobs.
Drives them batty
It has a real cult following in my chef circle.

I've had it many years ago. Great wine, unfortunately the LCBO doesn't carry it on a regular basis.

Lebanese as well as Israeli reds are boutique wines, and challenging to find outside of their native borders. However, their cabernet sauvignon grape variety wines are quite top notch. I had the opportunity to sample some from a dear friend of one my publishers who is from Beirut. ( Catholic, not Muslim ).

The Bekka Valley is renowned for their Cabernet.
