   A friend of mine in Europe just returned from a holiday in Spain; he had a great time, and returned with some wonderful treasures:

 You can’t go to Spain and not bring some goodies back; this time I brought back:

• Olive oil from Jaen. Probably the greenest oil I have ever seen. It has a fruity, unripe banana taste; peppery and bitter. This is for cold preparations only, and has incredible quality!

• Chorizo from Ibérico pigs fed with acorns (bellota).

• Spanish Ibérico ham. Many times called "pata negra" (meaning "black leg," referring to the colour of the black pigs). “Cebo” quality; not the highest quality, which goes for 150€ per kilo. I call that price insane. "Cebo" costs half of that and tastes delicious, too.

• Black garlic cloves; two pots, weighing 60 grams each...at 5€ per pot!

• Mojama, cured tuna; also called the pata negra of the sea. It is made the same way as the Ibérico ham.

• Turron, soft almond and sugar paste.

• Soap bars from Spain; an exclusive perfume that each time makes me think of Spanish holidays.

I can’t wait to go back, already!
