Well, First snow of the season is falling as we speak here in Little Rhody.
I've got a bad feeling about the upcoming winter, and I sure hope I'm wrong. No matter....I have a nice horseradish pot roast in the slow cooker, and I guess Rita and I will just hunker down and make the best of it.

Hard for me to sympathize, Dave. We had 1.5 inches, and near record-setting cold.
Now, for those of you living in the great white north, an inch and a half ain't much. But down here we rarely see any snow before Christmas, and, then, it's usually just flurries. Only saving grace: The roadbeds were still warm enough so the snow didn't stick.

Shooting for 60 and sunny here today. I don't even think we've had our first frost yet, which is quite odd. Usually it's frosty in the mornings well before Halloween. Though it's fairly typical to get a "second summer" this time of year where it's fairly warm and sunny. We'll see what this "hurricane strength low" that's sitting in the gulf of alaska will do though. It's supposed to cold and lots rain when it hits sometime around thursday night or friday.

Turns out we barely got enough to turn the roof of the car white....however, it is colder than a witch's upper body naughty bits today.

Cold doesn't begin to describe it. We were down into the single digits---something that is rare
for us even in the dead of winter. The weather guys were all agog that this morning it had warmed up to 20F. I'm afraid this portends an incredible winter this season. Tell me again why I moved here! ![]() |
