To All Members, Ron, Historic Foodie, Dave, Melissa, Pitrow, Karl and All Members,

The next holiday season is just around the corner ..

Please do share your recipes, how you celebrate, if you are travelling - where and when, and your holiday dessert suggestions.

It has been a long time since we have all met here on the Veranda and celebrated the change of the seasons, holidays, special dishes etcetra.

Wishing everyone good health and happiness.

Kind regards,
Margi

No hard plans yet, for us.  Something lamb and something seafood for sure, but I just haven't given it much thought, yet.

Hard to think of it as spring with 6 1/2 inches of new-fallen snow on the ground.
But we hae meat and we can eat
And sae the Lord be thanket

How true Historic Foodie.

6.5 inches of snow on the ground !  Wow.

Oh my ..

Yes, we do a roast lamb too ..  Probably shall browse here for a classic recipe and some ideas.

The favourite Spanish breakfast dessert are TORRIJAS - which are a type of "French Toast" however, they are prepared with Evoo and White Moscatel Sweet Wine verses Milk.  The bread is usually similar to an egg bread sliced thickly.

And I believe I have posted a recipe years ago in the Spain - Iberia section.

I hope that the Forum picks up ..

All my best to you and your Mrs. and have a lovely day.

Weather here is approx.  15 - 18 Degrees Centigrade ..  Blue skies and sunny.  However, they predict rain for tomorrow !!  Today was truly lovely so it is hard to believe !!

All my best regards.

Historic Foodie and Pitrow,

Decided on a Paella Marinero (shellfish) (a sailorĀ“s Paella is the translation)  for Good Friday as it is not a good omen to do meat on this day.

Sunday:   A small classic roast ..  a simple traditional Spanish, international classic .. Shall go to Butcher Saturday early morning and check out what options there are.

We have some exceptional Spanish red wines that shall pair perfectly ..

I hope to hear from you both and have a lovely Holiday Week.
