Good Afternoon,

Superbowl is around the corner, and has anyone given any thought on what to serve and how to serve it all ?

Though we do not view American Football, we are big fans of Real Madrid European Football, called Soccer by many North Americans.  However, our seasons are quite different, as our Super Bowl, or WORLD CUP takes place during the summer time.

None the less, we enjoy, viewing the North American Superbowl, a good excuse to entertain at home and now, we are able to get just about any T.V. channel worldwide we wish to.

SOME SUGGESTIONS ...

1) We usually do a " Paella a La Valencia " and place the Pallera Metal Pan the Paella was prepared in, on a hot plate; and everyone helps themselves to an earthenware dish, called a Cazuela.

2) To accompany the main course, the Paella Valenciana; we often like to provide a North American group of  "appetisers", including:

Sausages or German style Hot Dogs, with a Condiment Bar;  which includes:

pickles
kraut
simmered onions NYC Street Food Style
Assorted Mustards: Green  Dijon Peppercorn, German Aged Gold, Dark Gold Grainy & Dijon Classic
Hot Dog Buns
German Beer: Blonde and Black ( chilled beer mugs )
assorted relish
chutney for those with a penchant for piquant
chilie peppers from Mexico ( provided by our dear friend, restaurateur  & author Ventura )
Patatas Bravas: double fried wedge shaped potatoes with skin on and a piquant smoked paprika and garlic salsa

3) For those who do not eat red meat:

BBQ Chicken ( thighs )
Baugette ( chapata Italian style bread toasted with Evoo ) for dipping
an array of salad and antipasti, thus, everyone makes & dresses their own little salad
Homemade dressing & / or Evoo with Balsamic Modena Vinegar

4) Dessert:

I shall see our availability on products for February for a fruit based dessert; an apple pie perhaps, as Mom Eva´s is always a success story ... or Dan´s Pecan ... Good reason to prepare something novel, as our close friends, look forward to this day ...

Kindest regards and look forward to hearing from you all in regards to:

ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS.

A great discussion !

Margi
