Second-to-last Farmers Market. 3 kinds of tomatoes (medium red, small orange, and an amazingly delicious tiny, teardrop-shaped one that I wish I'd discovered sooner and been eating fresh. Any ideas what it might be?) Tomatillos Any other recommendations for easy=to-store treats? |

Note: I would not freeze these suggestions .. Jars of Salsas or Dips for Crudities (celery stalks, carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, chips) and nice with a baked potato too .. Jars of olives ( for tapenade ) Red roasted bell pepper strips (great with tuna and a bit of mayo) Evoo = extra virgin olive oil and some sea salt -- perfect with a lovely loaf of bread or crackers Eggs = french omelettes, sunny side up or hard boiled for deviled eggs or egg salad Hope this has assisted .. |

The market doesn't have a lot of those things (they have eggs, but I get those from my nephew), but roasted peppers sound delicious!

Melissa, Roasted red peppers are lovely. Surely you can find them in a Latin Market too .. They should have olives too .. Good luck on your shopping spree and have a lovely weekend. |

Turns out that there was a place with EVOO and olives after all. (I knew the vendor was there, but hadn't checked them out in months.) What I ended up buying from them, though, was some really nice balsamic vinegar.
Also froze some Swiss chard and got some Amish cucumber relish. |
