Is there a distinct style for Hesse?
My several times ancestor was from Wickenrode , Hesse and I was curious about any special foods or styles from Hesse or if it is just typical south German food.

Drinks, if you do a google search under "foods of Hesse" you'll find several interesting sites dealing with the cuisine of the area.
Hopefully, after doing some research, you'll prepare a themed meal and post the results. |

If a dinner should occur, I currently have 62 liters of Apfelwein in my cellar

I am not far away. I am right here.
Wonder how US customs would respond to a trunk full of Inconnu and 62 liters of Apfelwein? ROADTRIP!!!!! |

Jailhouse!!!!!!!
I have looked at the Hesse sites, appears to be about the usual German stuff, pork, beef, potatoes, cabbage and some kind of wine. Actually, except for the cabbage, it sounds about the usual for here, if you add in a bunch of Tex-Mex stuff, too. Just gotta have my tortillas ,(corn,of course, not flour.) ;,) |

I do know that they are famous for their Green Sauce, but we are not quite talking a Salsa Verde here.

I actually prefer pico de gallo, but without the cilantro, nasty stuff!
Not much on jalapenos either, just do not like thick walled peppers. The newmex series of peppers is much more to my taste. |
