I just spotted these in a store yesterday and picked them up for $5.99.
They look to be pretty useful! Has anybody used such things? Any tips?

i was looking at those the toher day as well. elected not to get them but i can see certain advantages. they seem to me to be a solution to all of the troubles that come with skewers.

on the other hand, it is hard to let go of the traditional skewer - there is something downright liberating about stabbing something it and holding it over a fire.....

I'm all for stabbing something too. I liked Hosers skewers...they are squared, so the skewer doesn't have a tendency to rotate in the stabbed food.

I have seen someone else use them - they had the tendency to stick and the lovely grilled crispness was coming off - maybe an oiling issue.

My favourite kebabs I've ever used were shaped almost like a miniture sword - sharp end and sides on a flat blade. no rotating problems.
kai time!

I have GOT to find me a set of those and pick them up. Very cool! I didn't shish kebab once this summer and was planning on doing so. Time flies, doesn't it? I do like that flattened curl of the skewers, reminds me of wrought iron.....very mediterrenean.

As I recall John....if memory serves me....they were purchased at Lowe's for fairly cheap money. Don't remember exactly how much.
