Every April for 26 years, SALONS GOURMETS ( CLUB GOURMET ) has been putting on, one of the largest Iberian and international gastronomic and wine trade fairs at the IFEMA convention centre in Europe.

The founders, Francisco Reyes, now retired, and run by his daughter and son; Francisco, started their lovely magazine in 1936, in Spanish only and it is still going strong.  It is the oldest Spanish language magazine in Spain.

This year, the 27th shall begin Monday the 8th and close on Thursday the 11th.

I shall be busy at the 4 day trade fair, taking fotos, and reporting on the latest products from throughout Spain; the tastings, the Chefs attending and the visiting nations.

Also, SANTIAGO DE CHILE is also hosting their Trade Fair the week after.

There will be a charcuterie tasting and knife carving class, a cheese tasting, numerous wine designation tastings amongst other tasting events ...

I shall report here in the Library for those interested.

APRIL 11th, 2013 ...

After 4 days of reporting and taking photographs at the IFEMA JUAN CARLOS TRADE FAIR, from the 8th of April through today; I have decided to post a few of the highlights, however, I have also decided to post THE ACORN FED AIR DRIED HAMS, THE CHEESES, THE EVOOs, THE WINES, THE TXACOLI WHITE SPARKLING WINES, THE CIDERS etcetra in their correct sections.

It was a wonderful experience.

So, for those interested, please look in the Iberia Section via topic which shall include photos.

Kindest,
Margaux.
