Dave's Meatballs - Italian Style

My original recipe for meatballs.

Serves 6

   1/2 lb ground beef
   1/2 lb ground pork
   1/2 lb ground veal
   1/4 cup finely minced onion
   2 tbsp finely minced garlic
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
   1 large egg, slightly beaten
   1/2 cup half and half
1/2 cup dry Italian bread crumbs
   1 tbsp dried parsley
   2 tsp dried oregano
   1 tsp kosher salt
   1 tsp freshly ground pepper

Heat oven to 350°F

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl....do not over mix....that will make the meatballs too firm.

With wet hands, form the mixture into golf ball sized portions and place on a baking sheet.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until done.

Serve with pasta and marinara, or with cheese as a submarine sandwich

Go ahead...play with your food!

dave, these look great, and the mix of beef, pork and veal is so important ~ will give these a try!

question: did you consider adding a little basil to the party? i'd like your thoughts on whether or not a easpoon or two might improve or detract from the end product. thanks!

I actually did add a bunch of basil to the meatballs when I made them yesterday Ron...that's why i posted the recipe separately...I took several liberties with my original formula.
