Hi, I'm Peter from NYC and I'm new here. I've been exposed to all different types of cuisines growing up in NY and I've been a home cook for a long time. I even did a stint as a charcuterie intern in a restaurant a few years at the tender age of 43.Tongue

I am a big fan of 'peasant cuisine,' the food of the people in any country — whether it is the American 'soul food,' Italian cucina povera, or Japanese or Vietnamese soups. 

I think as everyone else here, I love world history, culture and local traditions. I love the anthropology of food and its way of crossing borders. I respect food and admire the people who make it. I hunt and process the meat. I make my own sausage, patés, rillettes. I make pickles and kimchi. 

But most of all, food makes people happy and that's why I cook.
