Has anyone given any thought to the next International Holiday, yet  ?

Saint ValentineĀ“s  is  a lovely time of the year and quite special as it is dedicated to lovers,  partnerships, couples and spouses worldwide ..

Does any one bake a special dinner and dessert on this date ?  Does any one travel the weekend before or after the 14th February  ?

IT IS TOO TOO QUIET HERE.

What is everyone doing  ?  How were your Christmas Holidays  ?

Do to time constraints, haven't done anything special of late.

I did, a few years ago, make Friend Wife a special Valentine's desert: Heart-shaped chocolate Pavlovas with cinnamon whipped cream and fresh raspberries.

Ahhh, the way to a woman's heart!
But we hae meat and we can eat
And sae the Lord be thanket

We dont' really do much here, both of us tend to thing of it as just another commercial holiday designed specifically to get people to buy things. Between that and having my wife's birthday 3 weeks before valentine's day we don't really do anything special. I do go a little more out of my way for her birthday though I suppose, given the time of year.  For her birthday this year (next weekend) I'm surprising her with a weekend trip to the coast and have reservations at her favorite restaurant there.

Pitrow,

Wow.   Sounds amazingly wonderful.  Have a wonderful trip to the coast ..

I particularly love the coast in the wintertime and the aromas of the salty sea.

All my best wishes ..

The Beautiful Mrs. Tas and I also have our wedding anniversary on Saint Valentine's Day (28 years this year!); over the years, we have settled into a tradition where we make ribeye or T-bone steaks at home with a nice scampi/quattro formaggio pasta dish on the side. Depending on the timing, we also watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show.

Aye, we're boring, old people, it seems...but we have a good time. If our anniversary falls on a day when the Dog Show is not being televised, we might go out for dinner; but to be honest, we can usually make better at home.
