This nut and fruit bread can be used to prepare French Toast, had as breakfast and / or a snack in the late afternoon... From my Mom´s Kitchen ...
 
ORANGE PECAN BREAD ...
 
2 3/4 cup sifted flour
2 1/2 tsps. baking powder
2 tblsps. butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup of honey
3/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
2 cups chopped pecans
Orange zest ( from 1 orange ) cut finely
 
1. sift flour with baking powder, baking soda and salt
2. Work butter until creamy and stir in honey, unbeaten egg and zest
3. add flour and juice alternatively
4. mix well after each addition
5. stir in pecans
6. Pour into greased 9x5x2 1/2 inch loaf bread pan and bake 35 minutes at 325 degrees farenheit ...
7. let cool before slicing ...
