Peal and slice 3 or 4 onions and brown really well

Slice 1 to 1.5Kgs of beef(topside works well) and then dice.

Get a plastic bag and put some plain flour in it,season with salt and pepper and toss beef cubes till well coated

Next brown the beef cubes in the same pan that the onions were cooked in.(brown in small batches)

Then place beef and onions into a slow cooker or a casserole dish.Just cover with water.
Add beef stock, salt and pepper to taste.

Cook slow for 3 or 4 hour or until  beef is tender.

Goes really well with mashed potatoes, carrots, peas
EnjoyWink

does it get cold in australia or for that matter snow there...just curious. Wink
I remeber I thought cold was 60 when I lived in arizona and now that I'm back in wyoming I think anything above 32 is warm.

It does get cold but nothing like over there.Where we live in Victoria our winter days do not really get any colder than 8 deg C =46.6F and maybe get 2 or 3 of them a year.
We do get some gold frosty starts though -2 deg C but it normally turns out to be a nice day.

that's a beautiful-looking stew there, JD - i do something similar with deer steak cubes, but it enver occurred to me to let it simmer as a stew before (instead, i usually just add a can of cream of mushroom soup and serve it on mashed potatoes). i really like what you've got there and it is definitely on the list!
