As most of you know by now, our web hosting service, WebWiz, is no longer able to provide free hositng service; however, they are able provide very affordable and user-friendly services. After looking at our options, we decided to stick with them and take advantage of their awesome servicec and benefits, including software upgrades, back-up services, hosting services and tech support. These services keep a forum fresh and in good health, and are well worth the modest cost, which amounts to just under 100$ US per year.

For those who would like to help keep The Foods of the World Forums running, please note the "donate" button at the top of the page. All donations are free-will and will be used soley for the expenses related to the operation of this forum, including service and hosting fees, upgrades, operations, promotions of the forum and similar expenses.

Your support is appreciated - Thank you!

Ron

Hey, let's all go visit George. We can use the beer to wash down some dungenese crabs, which we can catch ourselves.

Very nice! Haven't been down that far south on the coast since I was a teen, but I like it down there. Lovely part of the state and nice year-round weather.

Big thanks to RichTee for his donation today ~ Beer

And if I have missed thanking ANYONE, please let me know. I try to post a thank you, even if it is to "Anonymous," and I do not want to skip anyone. Those two simple words do not adequately convey my appreciation for helping to keep this forum in operation, but they are the least I can do.

We're close, Brook ~

I'm going to talk to WebWiz and crunch some numbers, as I recall, we get a good discount for either 2 or 3 years, paid in advance.

Aw, gee, shucks, boss. Now I need go buy a bigger hat.

One thing these donations demonstrate: if you spread water thinly enough, nobody gets wet. It doesn't take but a couple of bucks from each of us and operating costs are more than covered. Probably the best deal on the net.

Very true, Brook - I can't thank each and every one of you all enough. This forum is really the realisation of a dream of mine, and as we add to the knowledge base here, it truly does become "our" forum - a community that not only has good recipes, but a ton of great information and even the opportunity to make a friend or two!

Speaking of friends, I'd like to give my especially deep and heart-felt thanks to my friend Dave (Hoser), who has not only been here since the beginning, but also has been more than instrumental in the direction this forum has been taking, and the path that it will continue to take as it grows. The truth is that I should be paying him, yet he took the time to make a generous contribution, and I can't convey my appreciation enough ~ Thank You, Dave! Beer

Don - I am indeed humbled, and speechless. That amount is extremely generous, and goes a long, long way to ensuring this forum's operation for quite a while....

I spent a couple of days trying to come up with something profound to say, but in the end, I can't think of anything that is more appropriate than simply, "thank you."

Ron

Hi, Anne - and thank you!

We've got some great members here and if it weren't for all of you, we wouldn't be here ~ for that, I am grateful, because I believe that it is only through meeting places such as this that we can keep a lot of wonderful and important traditions alive ~

To all - please allow me to express my apologies; I have been slacking off quite a bit in thanking everyone who has donated. It hasn't gone unnoticed, and I am very grateful for the support that this forum receives!

For those who use PayPal, you can set up a monthly donation, if you want; just a dollar or two each month adds up, over the course of the year! I am finally in a position to start doing the same now, and have done so, effective today; for me, it is much easier to "set it and forget it" at a small amount, than to throw in large chunks, now and then.

Thanks, as always, to everyone who helps me keep this forum running -

Ron
