Here’s the info…

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into square pieces
  • chuck roast, cut into squares
  • skewers (soaked in water to prevent burning)

The marinade:

  • 5 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 5 Tbsp mirin
  • 3 Tbsp sake
  • 1 1/2 – 2 Tbsp of sugar

Mix up marinade ingredients. Put chicken and meat into 2 separate plastic zip bags.  Pour the marinade into the bag and toss in the fridge for a while.

Skewer the marinaded chicken and meat. Grill up and drink a cold beer.

Mightly impressive, with beautiful colours on the plate!

I have a bottle of mirin and was looking for something new to do with it, and this just might be the ticket - The recipe in my Japanese volume of FotW is very similar, and I see some delving into the Far East in my future ~

Zelix. Great! Looks good and couldn't be easier.

Stick A-round! This place needs more Asian influences. I look forward to more.
