I got this for Christmas: http://www.amazon.com/Ceramic-Green-Non-Stick-Flip-Cookware/product-reviews/B00AWCC3C4

I'm very excited, because I loved pancakes, but have been too uncoordinated to make them. (They fold in half and get burnt on the outside and liquid in the middle.)

Has anybody used one? I haven't tried pancakes yet, but I did just make my best-ever grilled cheese with it.

Nope...never have tried one...always use my cast iron griddle for stuff like that.

Looks gimmicky to me, but if it works and you like it...

That was my first reaction too, Darko. As with any gadget, if it helps you do the job more efficiently then it's a good choice.

However, take a look at those user reviews. Doesn't sound like this one is up to the task

I'll wait to see what Melissa thinks of it.

Personally, I can't see what this gadget would do, that one could not do with a pan and a spatula.

I suspect that for people with the strength and coordination to handle a cast-iron pan and spatula consistently, this doesn't do anything more, and may not even be as good.

As somebody who's never been able to flip a decent pancake, I'm having a ball with the thing. Haven't tried making pancakes yet, but I've made a beautiful tuna melt and a gorgeous grilled cheese with it.

That's the important thing Melissa... It works for you, and you're happy with it.

So far, yes. It's been the Week of Toasted Sandwiches. I even made one for breakfast this morning. Now I'm out of bread. :)

I plan to get eggs and pancake mix this weekend.

Hm. I melted a pat of butter in the pan, closed it, flipped it, and melted butter ran out all over the cooktop. Not sure what it'll do with pancake batter.

But it does make great toasted sandwiches.
