I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas holiday - I was busier than a one-armed paperhanger, but enjoyed some time with family and managed to cook a few good dishes toward the end of the year.

For Christmas supper, we roasted a ham - my youngest son, Roger, took the lead on this, and did a really nice job. The 11-pound, hickory-smoked ham was roasted in our cast iron Dutch oven, and toward the end he devised a brown sugar glaze that worked very well. It was delicious!
