Well, time does seem to fly by ..

It is Valentine´s  Weekend and the next main holiday is Easter / Passover or just Spring Break.

Has anyone given thought to their Easter Sunday Menu or their Passover Holidays yet  ?

Is anyone travelling ?

Our Spanish specialty for brunch or a sweet tooth snack are:  Torrijas.  This is the Spanish versión of French Toast, prepared with its own bread.

Instead of milk, it is prepared with  a young delicate red or White wine and instead of butter, it is sautéed in Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Torrijas stem from the Convents of yester-year.

Today, new generations purchase at their local bakeries.

They are also served in bars for breakfast and "merienda" (17.00 - 19.00 ) ..

Look forward to hearing from you and hope you have had  a wonderful Valentine´s day.

Haven't made any hard decisions yet, Margi. But given the nature of the duel holiday, it will be something with lamb for sure.

Historic Foodie,

Good to hear from you.

Yes, Lamb is the Easter Sunday tradition here.

Thursday and Friday are lent focused, so fish, vegetarian and / or egg specialities.

Have not given it too much thought yet ..

Father´s  Day is March 19th (Saint José), and a big Paella day.

So, shall be giving the 2 some serious thought next month (March) ..

We may make a 4 day weekend trip -- not far, one of the neighbouring small historic cities.

All my best wishes and stay in contact.
