Ron, Historic Foodie, Dave Hoser, Melissa, Pitrow:

Exceptionally quiet here ..

We have just finished Spanish holidays and June is not a holiday month here.

However, the weather is quite warm and people are planning their summer holidays (vacations).

Any one with definitive plans for July or August or September ?

Thinking on topic.  I like to take my holidays in September when all tourists go back to work and it calms down a bit ..  The jammed airports are not a pleasantry.

Shall be planning a trip to the north of Spain and also a trip to visit one of my daughters who is married and to see my grand-daughter, they live in Switzerland many years.

I am busy with my magazine and cannot travel until it is launched next month.

Best wishes and drop a line !!!!!!

Nothing major planned here yet, still kind of waiting for covid to die off before any major travel. We were planning a trip to the Netherlands to show my wife and kids where my mom grew up, for 2020 that got postponed, hopefully we can plan that again soon.

Beyond that, just a couple camping trips: a week in central Oregon near Bend, a week in the gold fields of east Oregon for some prospecting, and a week at the coast. And a couple big concerts this year if they don't get pushed back again due to covid.

Def Leopard, Poison & Motley Crue in Seattle, and Aerosmith in Vegas.

I'm with you though, I'd much prefer to do my traveling in the off season when it's not as crowded. But having a kid in elementary school makes that hard, so for now it'll have to be mostly during the summer.

Pitrow,

Wow.  Yes, I understand totally about waiting.

We hope to go to Portugal for a few days in September  when the mad rush for tourists go back to work and their kids go back to school !!

The airports are packed and it is not pleasant to travel during "mass vacation" time.  It is only a 30 minute flight for us, however, we have thought of driving across (west) instead.  So we shall wait and see how September or October are.

The Netherlands is a wonderful place to visit. I like Amsterdam - it is very very quaint and picturesque.

Where is your Mom from exactly ?

Wow !  Lots of Rock and Roll !!  Bend, Oregon is wine turf !!!  Lovely area.  Oregon has some wonderfulñ restaurants in Portland ..

My travel agent told me that Iberia Airlines and Air Europa, both Spanish airlines, have their MASK regulation and one cannot board (embarque) without a mask.  They have maintained their national regulations.

It would be wise to check with KLM - the national Dutch Airline or any other airlines that you shall fly with,  about Mask Regulations. Definitely should carry them with you ..

We shall do some travelling up in northern Spain hopefully for long weekends however, our main trip is Portugal and as mentioned we both prefer to wait until the mass tourism season ceases !!!!!

Take care and stay in contact.
