How spicy is this dish?  I'd love to try it but my wife and kids don't do spicy.

The only hot stuff I see in it are the Hatch Chilis and the cayenne...I would think you could just use caution with them and the chili powder and it should be fine.
Maybe replace the Hatch chilis with regular bell peppers.

anyway...that's my 2¢

I'm not familiar with Hatch peppers.  Are they hotter than jalapeno's?

I tried this tonight. I nixed the hatch peppers, went light on the cayenne, cumin and black pepper .... and it was still too hot for everyone but me.  Ouch

Yes..."hot" is such a relative term in food as in weather. I consider 90° and humid a lovely summer day, whereas most folks are holed up in the air conditioning when that happens. It's the same with peppers ....some people find jalapenos and even pepperocini extremely hot, while most folks would say they just have a nice little kick to them.  I think a lot of it is just body chemistry...some folks systems just react to the capsaicin a bit more violently, like having a slight allergy to it.

Then there's weirdos like me who hate hot weather and hide in the AC but LOVE hot, hot, hot peppers.

Sure was. Cry

Just hoping we can get Thursday's first round tournament game here in Georgia. We sure miss our home state of Indiana during BB season.
