  Good Afternoon. 

This is a post which I have promised Ron and those who truly appreciate fine red wines from around the globe; these are some of Portugal´s best reds:  

Douro Reds are well sculpted with plenty of red fruit and have come a long way ... Furthermore, Portuguese reds from Douro, have been gaining punctuation marks of 90 to 92 ... 

Here are a few to that are exported and available in the USA : 

1)  Quinta do Vesuvio Douro Pombal - D.O. Vesuvio, Portugal
Red violet aromas coiple with well concentrated structure and a 90 with plenty of spice and cedar.
Price: $ 28 USD

2) Quinta de Ventozelo - Touriga Nacional Douro 2007
This is an elegant red with notes of plum. Also coming in at number 90. Price: $ 20 USD 

3)  Vitivinicola Carla Ferreira Unipessoal :  Douro Vinha Conceito 2008
This is a lovely combination of aromas including: fresh fig, black currant and kirsch cherry
The price is $45 USD and the Puncutation is 91 

4) CARM RESERVA ( $43 USD ): Douro Grande 2007

This is an elegant red with aromas of cacoa, ripe red fruit and chocolate. It is a refined wine with a glorious finish and after taste.
