I was in Holland last week and one lunch time, we went into a cafe for a light lunch.  My brother translated Uitsmijter as "something to do with eggs, so I ordered my light lunch.

That is four large slices of buttered bread, each slice is layered with meat, a fried egg, a slice of aged cheese and a mustard mayonnaise. This is served with potato salad and a token gesture of lettuce etc. The photo doesn't do it justice and I wish I had taken it before starting on it.

I am not looking forward to getting weighed this week Cry

Gareth

PS also re-discovered my liking for Dutch Gin (especially the lemon variety)

This is what we couldn't manage from the evening meal (I had two racks of BBQ ribs, about 12 - 15 inches long):

There were bowls of chips/fries/frites, fried potato, 4 lots of vegetables, salad, strawberry sauce, apple sauce served with every meal.

That is my brother and his wife in the background
