Title says it all. What's your favourite cereal?

Me, I like Shreddies. And I have a soft spot for Cap'n Crunch.

Yeah, I know this isn't the greatest food, but sometimes... ya just have to have it.

My favorite is Rice Chex, but I hear you on the Cap'n Crunch my friend.Thumbs Up

Have you checked out the recipe for Captain Crunch chicken?

Captain Crunch Chicken

My thanks to good friend Lisa Tracey for this very tasty way to prepare chicken.
This is a knock-off of the Planet Hollywood favorite.

Serves 4

   2 lb chicken tenders
3 cup captain crunch cereal, pulverized
   1 1/2 cup cornflakes, pulverized
   1 egg
   1 cup milk
   1 cup all purpose flour
   1 tsp onion powder
   1 tsp garlic powder
   1/2 tsp black pepper

Heat oven to 350°F

Pulverize the cereals in a food processor until very fine.

Place in a pie plate and set aside.

Stir together flour, onion powder, garlic powder and pepper, and place in another pie plate.

Beat the egg with the milk and place in a shallow dish.

Dredge chicken pieces in the flour mix, then egg wash, then cereal mix until well coated.

Bake for 45-60 minutes, and serve with Creole Mustard Sauce

Creole Mustard Sauce

This is great served with Captain Crunch chicken, or just about anything you'd like.
Thanks again Lisa!

Serves 6

   1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup good whole grain mustard
   1 tbsp yellow mustard seed
   1 tbsp horseradish
   1/2 tsp cider vinegar
1 dash Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce
   1 tsp red wine vinegar
   1 tsp water
   1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
   1/2 tsp kosher salt
   1 tbsp sliced green onions
   1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced green bell peppers
   1 tsp minced celery
   1 tsp minced onions

Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Chill .

Go ahead...play with your food!

AK1,

Great topic .. When it comes to breakfast cereals, I am not too much of a fan, however, to answer the question, organic SWISS MUSELLI from Switzerland. I use Natural Organic Greek Yogurt instead of milk with the Muselli ... It is quite tasty.

HOWEVER, I do like Hoser´s 2 récipes .. Sounds marvelous.

Corn flakes prohibit the oil from seeping into the chicken or shrimp ( I would prepare with extra large shrimp ) ... And the crispy factor is just fantastic.

Have a wonderful Halloween,

Margaux.

Counting boxed cereals, my favourites are probably "Grape Nuts" and "Shredded Wheat" ~

...and of course Cap'n Crunch (CrunchBerries!) ....

Regular grits and oat bran,50-50, cooked up very stiff and with butter and a soft cooked egg in it.
This is on the rare occasions I eat cereal, usually I fix something with potatoes, eggs and / or sausage with corn tortillas or something similar.
Remember, I am in Texas and was mostly raised within 10 miles or less of Mexico.
In fact, cabrito al pastor and Bohemia have made some breakfasts for me!
